I was adopted in 1950 into a loving two-parent family and enjoyed a wonderful, caring, and nurturing childhood in Chicago. It was only after being blessed later in life with a son, Ryan, and daughter, Kerry, that I began to wonder about my 'unknown' health background and any impact it might have on my children and succeeding generations. The hunt for my health history eventually directed me on a long and winding search for my birth mother, Marie. This eleven-year journey would be filled with drama, heart-breaking decisions, fateful events, and unexpected twists and turns. Although many searches for birth mothers end unsuccessfully, my quest resulted in a 25 - year long loving 'homecoming' as the only child of my birth mother, Marie.
